ST. LOUIS -- It's been a celebration of pride this weekend across Downtown St. Louis. Before the festivities got started today, a church service took place on the main stage near Tucker and Chestnut."To me, it's so important for religious people of faith who are supportive of the LGBTQIA community to stand up and speak out and be a part of pride because so much of the resistance and animosity and hatred that comes towards the LGBTQ comes from people of faith. And so it's important for other folks to hear that God does love them and that they are welcome in some of the churches around our city," said Rev. Heman Park Pool reopens after last summer's historic flood damage

UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. -- People are looking for a place to cool off as the summer heat is setting in. Large crowds of people are out at the Heman Park pool for the reopening.The pool is officially back open after close to a million dollars of repairs made to the electrical system, pumps, and cleaning out debris and trash from last summer's historic flooding. Life in Illinois gets more expensive on July 1 with multiple tax increases, new laws Heman pool is open daily from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday. The city says this summer they will not be offering swim lessons. Employees say the re-opening brought in a steady stream of families from across the area.Make sure to check online before you decide to visit the pool. Hundreds of thousands joined in or attended the Denver Pride Parade that rolled through the city for about three hours on Sunday. Woman dies in rafting accident on Colorado River in Grand County

Mother charged with death of infant daughter in San Bernardino County

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of torture and child abuse causing death in connection with the death of her infant daughter, authorities announced on Sunday.  The incident unfolded on Saturday, June 24, when deputies with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department responded to a home in the 11400 block of Russet Place just after 2 a.m., according to an SBSD news release.  At the residence, deputies found 7-month-old female infant who was not breathing. Deputies performed life saving measures on the child until paramedics arrived and transported the infant to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:11 a.m. Authorities said that both deputies and medical personnel noted physical trauma to the infant that was consistent with child abuse. Police arrested a man and a woman in connection to the armed robbery of a 16-year-old boy in South Miami-Dade, an incident that was recorded on video later posted on social media.According to Miami-Dade Police, 18-year-old Jayden Sanders called the victim on June 18 and asked if he wanted to go to the beach.When the teen agreed, investigators said, Sanders and a car full of passengers picked the victim up.At around 2:30 p.m., police said, they got to the area of Southwest 353rd Street and 18th Avenue, and that’s when Sanders pulled the car over.Investigators said Sanders, 21-year-old Kaya Burgos and a third person pulled out a rifle and two semi-automatic guns and pointed them at the victim’s head.An arrest report states Burgos began demanding the victim, “Give up all that [expletive], referring to his sneakers, gold neck chain, camera, and iPhone XR.”Investigators said the victim eventually got away, ran home and told police the next day.Burgos and Sanders w...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — At least three people have been found dead, and at least five others are thought to be injured, police in Missouri said while investigating two shootings with multiple victims in the same area of Kansas City early Sunday morning.Officers were called to the intersection of 57th Street and Prospect Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. where they found three shooting victims — two men and one women — dead in a parking lot and in the street, Kansas City Police Department spokesperson Jake Becchina said in an email.Police were told that five other shooting victims with injuries that were not life-threatening arrived at various hospitals by private vehicles or ambulance, Becchina said, adding: “Preliminary information indicates there was a large gathering of people in a parking lot at the intersection when the victims were shot.”An initial investigation by police indicates the gathering took place outside an auto mechanic shop, where police have been called to before,...

Elevator walls at Little Havana apartment building defaced with swastikas

Residents of an apartment building in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood shared their concerns about a hateful display in their elevator.7News cameras showed two swastikas etched into the elevator’s walls at the Gallery at River Parc apartments, located along the 1300 block of Northwest Seventh Street.Residents said they first saw the vandalism Sunday morning and tried reporting it to police, but were told they needed to wait for the management office to call it in.The discovery has left many residents in fear for their safety.“With shootings and vandalism and, you know, crime going on nowadays at an all0time high, you know, you can never be too safe,” said a resident who asked not to be identified or show his face on camera.The resident said he wants the management of the 11-story building to also investigate.

Barnstable police are turning to the public as they investigating a shooting in Hyannis on Sunday.Officers responding to a reported shooting in the area of Main Street and High School Road around 4:30 p.m. found a male who had been shot in the legs and began medical treatment, according to Barnstable police.A preliminary investigation suggests this was not a random act of violence.
