DENVER (KDVR) -- The Littleton Police Department held its annual "Shop with a Cop" event Saturday, where 49 students took over a local Target store along with officers.These 49 students were gifted $200 each to spend in the store on whatever they wanted. What’s on Denver-area K-9’s Christmas wish lists? This was made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor, as well as partnership with the community, LPD said."Every year this is a wonderful and heartwarming event, and LPD thanks everyone who was involved for not only making Christmas a little brighter for some local families, but also for our officers," police said in a release.All of the children were anonymously nominated by a school counselor who recognized a family in need.

Man arrested, accused of stealing $475K in jewelry from Boulder home

DENVER (KDVR) -- A man accused of stealing $475,000 in jewelry from a Boulder County home was arrested in Michigan in late November and extradited to Colorado in December.Bryce Daniel Almus, 31, of Silverthorne, bonded out of the Boulder County Jail on Dec. 6 on a $200,000 bond.In early July, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office received a report about a theft from a home in the 6000 block of St. Vrain Road that happened sometime in June.The homeowners had been away that month and the property was on the market, so multiple people were coming and going from the property. DENVER (KDVR) -- The University of Colorado Buffaloes home football games brought millions of dollars to the local economy, according to calculations released by Visit Boulder. The six home games generated an estimated $113.2 million in total economic impact, according to Visit Boulder. Colorado’s Travis Hunter named most versatile player in major college football An estimated $72.1 million was the direct economic impact from visitors, organizers, media and sponsors on things like lodging, transportation, retail and food and beverage.The remaining $41.1 million was from the indirect impact, mainly the extra spending by local businesses and employees of those businesses because of the extra income.All six games were sold out and well-attended, with between 52,725 and 54,032 people going to each game.
