Michigan judge rejects 'insurrection' clause challenge, Colorado case to be decided soon

DETROIT (AP) — A Michigan judge ruled Tuesday that former President Donald Trump will remain on the state’s primary ballot, dealing a blow to the effort to stop Trump’s candidacy with a Civil War-era Constitutional clause.It marks the second time in a week that a state court declined to remove Trump from a primary ballot under the insurrection provision of the 14th Amendment.A Colorado judge is expected to rule on a similar lawsuit there by Friday. Closing arguments in that case are scheduled for Wednesday.In Michigan, Court of Claims Judge James Redford rejected arguments that Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol meant the court had to declare him ineligible for the presidency. Update, Nov. 14: Individuals with Valor on the Fax reported the sign was found in an alley near their property, according to the Molly Brown House Museum. The group, which provides housing for unhoused individuals experiencing a traumatic brain injury or other disability, returned the sign to the museum. DENVER (KDVR) — The historic Molly Brown House Museum said a sign was taken off the front of the property.The museum told FOX31 that the "Votes for Women" sign was stolen off the property over the weekend. The sign reads "Votes for Women. Home of Margaret Brown, 'Titanic' survivor and national advocate for suffrage and labor rights. Proposed as candidate for U.S. Senate 1914."The sign was given to the museum in 2021 after it was declared a historic marker on the National Votes for Women Trail. 2nd man convicted in murder plot of South Florida auto designer sentenced to 50 years in federal prison

A man convicted of taking part in a brazen plot that nearly turned deadly has learned his fate.On Monday, Jamie Serrano, 46, was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for his involvement in a plot to travel to Miami and shoot and kill a man, according to officials.Serrano is the second man to be sentenced for his involvement in the shooting. On Nov. 3, Julian Jimenez, 27, was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison and was given an additional five years of supervised release. The shooting happened in August of 2019 when the two arrived in Miami. Jimenez then went to the home of a man known for customizing cars for celebrities. According to police, 45-year-old Alex Vega, was shot three times as he pulled up to his garage. Luckily, the barrage of bullets missed his vital organs. Federal authorities said Jimenez was the shooter. Member of Massachusetts catalytic converter theft ring pleads guilty

A member of the catalytic converter theft crew operating out of western Massachusetts has pleaded guilty.Zachary Marshall, either 25 or 26, of Holyoke, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport stolen property in interstate commerce and interstate transportation of stolen property. U.S. District Court Judge Leo T.
