39-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Three Vehicles Near Howard AvenueFRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 21, 2023) – Saturday night, a pedestrian crash involving three vehicles on Highway 180 fatally injures one person.The collision happened around 11:43 p.m. along Highway 180 and North Howard Avenue, in the section of Whitesbridge Avenue.Officers learned that a man stood in the middle lane of Highway 180, east of Howard before being struck by the first vehicle. Subsequently, the impact sent the man into the westbound lanes, where he was hit by two other vehicles.The three involved drivers stayed at the site of the crash and cooperated with the police. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the man to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.According to investigators, the 30-year-old pedestrian was intoxicated and was wearing dark clothing. One dead, 10 reported injured in crash near Byron

BYRON — One person was killed and 10 others injured Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision on Vasco Road, officials said.The collision happened about 2 p.m. on Vasco Road, south of Camino Diablo, on the outskirts of Byron.Initial reports were that at least three vehicles were involved, including a truck and van that collided head-on, authorities said.One person was pronounced dead at the crash site.Contra Costa Fire Protection District spokesman Steve Hill said two people suffered serious injuries, four moderate injuries and four mild injuries.At least two people had to be extricated from the damaged vehicles.Some were airlifted to a hospital while others were taken by ambulances.The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.Vasco Road was closed to accommodate the victims being removed from the vehicles and transported to hospitals and remained that way as of 3 p.m. for the CHP to do its investigation.Check back for updates

(KRON) -- Contra Costa County firefighters are responding to a three-vehicle head-on crash on Vasco Road south of Camino Diablo. There are "multiple casualties" involved and one confirmed fatality, according to officials. Video: Transgender man says he was denied hormone replacement meds at Oakland Walgreens Ten people were injured in the head-on crash involving a pickup truck and a van, two of them seriously, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Spokesperson Steve Hill. The two seriously injured victims were airlifted to John Muir Hospital. A third vehicle was also involved.Four victims had moderate injuries. Four others suffered minor injuries. At least three victims were transported John Muir, including a 31-year-old man and a 40-year-old.Two accident victims required extrication from their vehicles. (KRON) -- A shelter-in-place has been ordered for a North Bay fire on Wednesday, according to a Marin County alert.The vegetation fire is in the community of Woodacre, near 50 Fire Road. County authorities said "very limited evacuations" have been ordered. The alert was issued at 3:05 p.m. There is no word as to the size of the fire.This is a developing story.
