CHICAGO (AP) — White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is back in the starting lineup after being sidelined by a sprained right pinky finger.Robert got hurt on a slide into third base during Wednesday’s 9-2 victory over the New York Yankees. 2 migrant families removed from shelters for missing curfew, later relocated elsewhere

CHICAGO — At least two migrant families said they were kicked out of a shelter this weekend for missing curfew by a few minutes.According to City officials, two new arrival families were asked to leave the Super 8 Motel near the intersection of North Sheridan Road and West Chase Avenue on Saturday for missing curfew multiple times. The two families were offered alternate shelter at the Inn of Chicago, but refused the accommodation.Those close to the situation said they were late once by seven minutes, and they had no choice but to resort to camping out at a nearby park.City officials said a second attempt to locate the families on Sunday was unsuccessful, until Tuesday, when they were found and offered shelter at the Inn of Chicago again and this time they accepted."A lot of these people, they don't know the City," said Baltazar Enriquez, President of the Little Village Community Council. Security guard accused of killing driver leaving Ford Heights strip club

COOK COUNTY, Ill. – A private security guard is charged with first-degree murder charge after the Cook County Sheriff's Office says he shot and killed a driver leaving a Ford Heights strip club last Saturday.At around 5:30 a.m. on August 12, deputies responded to the 800 Block of E. Lincoln Highway in Ford Heights for a shooting outside the Atlantis Gentlemen’s Club. Responding officers found 29-year-old Jesus Galvan, of Pharr, Texas, shot in a white pickup truck that had crashed nearby. NEW YORK — Major League Baseball suspended one of the Cubs' minor league pitchers on Tuesday, and it comes down to the use of a banned substance. Dalbert Mosquea, who is pitching for the Cubs' rookie team in the Dominican Summer League, was given a 56-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol. This was announced just ahead of the big league club's start of their City Series with the White Sox at Wrigley Field.Use of that performance-enhancing substance is a violation of MLB's Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.The 18-year-old pitcher was signed by the club as a free agent on June 29, first assigned to the DSL Cubs Red team before joining their DSL Blue team. In nine games with that squad, Mosquea had a 3.14 ERA in 14 1/3 innings with 23 strikeouts compared to three walks with a WHIP of 1.05.

Minnesotans could see tax rebates, worth as much as $1,300 per household, hitting their bank accounts later this week with more than two million payments expected to be send out by the end of September.Gov. Tim Walz is expected to formally announce the rebate checks have started to be distributed Wednesday at the Capitol in St. Paul during a back-to-school event with Paul Marquart, state revenue commissioner, parents and students.Direct deposits could be received by some taxpayers later this week and paper checks will be mailed later.All rebates should be sent to eligible taxpayers by the end of September, according to the governor’s office.To qualify, single filers must have $75,000 or less in income and couples must have earned $150,000 or less.
