JERUSALEM (AP) — Hamas militants fired thousands of rockets and sent dozens of fighters into Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip in an unprecedented surprise early morning attack during a major Jewish holiday Saturday, killing dozens and stunning the country. Israel said it is now at war with Hamas and launched airstrikes in Gaza, vowing to inflict an “unprecedented price.”In an assault of startling breadth, Hamas gunmen rolled into as many as 22 locations outside the Gaza Strip, including towns and other communities as far as 15 miles (24 kilometers) from the Gaza border. In some places, they roamed for hours, gunning down civilians and soldiers until Israel's military mustered a response. Power outage impacts Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton

Emergency crews were on scene at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton Saturday while a power outage impacted the hospital, officials said.The Brockton Emergency Management Agency in a statement said leadership and staff were working with Good Samaritan’s emergency response team as of around 11 a.m. to deal with “current emergency issues affecting hospital operations.”The hospital, officials said, was in “condition black” and was not accepting incoming patients. A spokesperson for Steward Health Care, which owns Good Samaritan Medical Center, said the hospital was experiencing a power outage as of around 1:45 p.m., adding “[O]ur team is working diligently to find the cause.”“As patient safety is always our number one priority, our patients are receiving uninterrupted care,” the spokesperson said. “Where needed our patients are being transferred to our sister hospitals for care.”  No further information was immediately available. (The Hill) — X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, has removed users’ ability to block and report certain advertisements.According to a new report by Mashable Friday, users on X reached out to the publication about a new type of ad. These ads were reportedly in the “For You” feed on the platform and were not appearing on X before.The new ads also do not let users like or retweet them, Mashable reported. The publication also said the ad format does not reveal the people behind them, or their existence as ads themselves.
